Terry Gormley joined the GrandShores Management team in February of 2002. He was appointed Vice President of GrandShores in December of 2004 & was appointed President in December 2007.
Mr. Gormley began his business career in 1982 as Vice President and a partner with Gill and Associates in Atlanta, Georgia with responsibility of overseeing the company operations. Gill and Associates was a sales and training firm catering to the increasing needs of automobile dealerships throughout the southeastern United States. He left in 1985 to begin TASK Management, Inc.
In 1988 he sold TASK to MS Diversified, a large producer of insurance products for automobile dealers, and was appointed V. President of sales and training. Gormley continued in this position during the transition and on until 1995 at which time he began Automobile Dealership Service where he was owner and president. Under his guidance, the company grew very quickly and expanded into several southeastern states.
In 1997, Gormley purchased his first condominium and became president of the board, working very closely with their management company which was GrandShores. He became friends with the staff at GrandShores and in 2002, sold his interest in Automobile Dealership Services to move to Destin and join their team.
In his free time, Gormley enjoys playing golf and spending time with his two grandchildren. He is one of the 19 Florida Legislative Action Committee members whose responsibility includes reviewing and debating upcoming Senate and House bills relative to community living in Florida. He has served as volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, is past President of the Hugh O’Brian Youth Foundation and former Lt. Governor for the Kiwanis Club speaking at many of their meetings raising money for sponsored charitable programs.
